Christmas 2011

Wow! I am almost a whole year behind on my blog. My computer is so slow at uploading pictures that I have about given up on it. But I thought I would try it again.
Christmas 2011 was a fun one

Anyway, as always, we had a super fun Christmas with our little family.

The kids have asked for pillow pets for 2 years now, so Santa finally had to break down and get them some, luckily they went on sale. They have commercials for them on the kids' favorite TV station, Qubo, and they would go around singing "It's a pillow, it's a pet, it's a pillow pet!" all of the time and then they would say which pillow pet each of them was going to ask Santa for. Shaylee got the ladybug, Dayce got the frog, Ash got the pink pig and a pink elephant, because she thought she needed 2 of them, Brendyn got the dog, and Daddy (who didn't even ask for one) got a cow.
Mommy and my big girl
My Dad and Marie came up for our annual lunch of scones and bottled fruit and ham and he wore an elf costume.
This picture is of Daycen at his school Christmas party that I got to help with
Trying to get a good picture of all 4 kids is almost impossible

This was one of my favorite gifts that we made for my mom. We made a Christmas tree with the kids' hands. It turned out so cute. I wish I could figure out how to flip it so it isn't sideways.

We just had a nice, relaxing time at home. I love Christmas time.

Thanksgiving 2011

We went to my in-laws house for Thanksgiving this year and we had a fun time. My mother-in-law is the best cook in the whole world so it is always a treat to eat at her place! I had to bring a pie this year and so this is my blueberry pie. We had a big crowd with lots of cousins for my kids to play with. My in-laws have 32 grandchildren so there are usually plenty of kids to play with.

I guess Dayce must have been outside playing because I don't have any pictures of him.

We had a fabulous time and are so thankful for all of our many blessings.

Beautiful Artwork

You've gotta love "I love Mom" graffiti on your house, don't you?
I couldn't even get mad! I have no clue what Daycen wrote this with and hopefully it will come off, but I'm thinking it might have been a dirt clod so it will probably wash away. Funny boy!

 Shaylee made this sign for her school talent competition and she won grand prize for 1st grade! She painted the wood and put the stickers on for her name and I tied to bow and hot glued on the princess crown. She was so proud of herself and even got her name in the local newspaper! Good job, Shay!

I sure do love these sweet kids that were sent to me

My "early" Easter wreath

I saw this cute wreath on Pinterest and I knew that I just had to make one. We have TONS of plastic Easter eggs and this was a great way to use them.

1. First off you cut out some cardboard from a box. I used a big dinner plate for the outside and a small dessert plate for the inner circle.

Here is our million (slight exaggeration) plastic eggs from our town Easter egg hunt and family members who have left us their kids' eggs.

2. Just start hot gluing the eggs around and then do a top layer of eggs.

 3. Then you add the Easter grass with hot glue and a ribbon in the middle. I had to trim the grass a little with some scissors.

It turned out so cute and I'm so excited to hang it outside for Easter.
I love it and it was super cheap and easy to make.

But until it is Easter time,  I will put my St.Patrick's Day sign back up!

And when you are done with the project, your little boy can climb into the box that you cut the cardboard circle for the wreath out of. He thought it was pretty cool that he was in the box!!

Deer hunt 2011

Daycen was so excited to get to go hunting with Daddy this year. He is so interested in guns and animals. He thinks he is pretty big, so Dell was happy when he had the chance to get a deer while Daycen was out with him. It wasn't a trophy buck, but Daycen thought it was one of the biggest ones he had ever seen!

Shaylee's field trip and 1st lost tooth

Hooray, I FINALLY have my computer back. It has had two viruses that are hopefully fixed. Now I have a ton to catch up on with the blog!

I was able to go with Shay and her class on their 1st grade field trip last fall. Our first stop was at a corn maze and the kids had so much fun trying to find their way through.

She kinda has a nail biting problem. haha

The kids got to do leaf pictures while they were waiting for the other classes to get done in the corn maze.

My sister in law also came on the fieldtrip with us and her little girl is in Shay's class. I thought this was such a cute picture of Raeshel and Maggie.

Back on the bus we were taking pictures with my phone.

The last stop was at a park and the kids got to plant seeds and listen to a story and play some games. Shay's favorite part was swinging. Then we ate lunch and the kids made cute leaf necklaces with their leaf rubbings they had done earlier. It was so much fun and I was glad I got to go spend some time with my sweet girl.

Shay's two bottom teeth had been loose for quite a while and one day when she came home from school, one of them was gone. No one even knew that she had lost it at school.
She was sure proud when I made a big deal about it and even though she didn't have the tooth, the tooth fairy still came and brought her a gold dollar that night. She has lost two other teeth since then. It is fun (and a little sad) to see her growing up so fast.

Fall Fun

We had a super fun fall going camping with our own little family and some of our good friends, The Anderson's. We borrowed my Mom's trailer and ate tons of good food. Everything tastes better up the canyon anyway.

 We took our 4 wheeler and went on many good rides

 My hubby and me
 We went on hikes and went fishing

 Is this a camping face or what???? Haha, the kids got so dirty and they loved every minute of it! We can't wait for next year!

I love this picture of my little buddy
 Even Superman gets tired after a busy day of fighting the bad guys

 My kids went up on a warm fall day and got in the ditch. It wasn't quite warm enough to go for a swim and so they had to come home and warm up by drinking hot chocolate and getting in the bubble bath.

 My hubby and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary at the Anniversary Inn. We had the hayloft room and it was so nice to get away and relax for a few days. My sister and her girls kept the kids.
 I was trying to get a picture of the mirror, it was so cool. This is the only picture that I got of me!

 The kids love to ride on the lawn mower with Daddy

 Daycen loves to climb up in our big tree in the back yard

Halloween 2011

I had to dress up for Bunko and decided to wear my old high school cheerleading uniform. It didn't quite fit the way it used to but I got it to work!

 Daycen dressed up as superman for school and they had their party the week before Halloween.

 Shay had CRAZY hair day at her school for drug free week, so we did lots of bows in her hair. She looked so cute!

 We got to go to Daycen's school and watch a Halloween parade, and Brendyn had to wear his superman costume too. It was fun to see all of the costumes, although I thought my two little supermen were the very cutest of all!

 A big superman hug!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had lots of fun painting our pumpkins (much easier than carving for my little kids)
 Ashlyn's were pink!
 Dayce did green
 My Mom came up to paint with us
 Our porch looked so festive
 Shay got to wear her princess dress and crown to school. We also did glitter on her face.
 Ashlyn and Brendyn looked so cute in their costumes too
 This was at Shay's school parade. She had to stop to hold her baby brother
 We went and trick-or-treated at Grandpa and Grandma Finlinson's house
I love fall.
The cooler weather, the leaves changing, painting pumpkins, Dressing up, I love it all!
