Happy Birthday Daycen!

We celebrated Daycen's 5th birthday right after Christmas. We went to his favorite place, McDonalds, with a few friends and cousins.
He got a new bike from Mom and Dad, but it was too cold and snowy to ride it.

He chose a fire truck cake again this year
(he also had one for his 3rd b-day)

Happy Birthday Big Guy! We love you so much and are glad you are a part of our forever family!

Christmas Day 2010

The kids were so excited for Christmas morning to come! They woke up about 7:30am, which is great. I remember my mom making us stay in bed until 6am and that seemed like FOREVER! So, I'm sure the days of sleeping in until 7:30 will soon end. We got up and said our family prayer thanking Heavenly Father for our greatest gift, His Son, Jesus Christ. Then it was time to head into the family room to see what was under the tree!

After getting all of the presents opened, we have a brunch of scones and bottled fruit that all of our parents join us for.
Brendyn was too tired to make it through brunch.

My Mom, Eileen, Lydell's mom, Pat, and his Dad, JB.

My dad, Neal, and step-mom, Marie

Ashlyn had a brunch picnic.

Shaylee got a new crown from Santa that she was so proud of
and she loves to hear how beautiful she looks in it!

We had a great Christmas and feel very blessed,
We hope yours was just as fun!

Christmas Eve 2010

We always gather in at Lydell's parents' house on Christmas Eve and the kids act out the nativity, we enjoy a delicious meal together (his mom is THE BEST cook ever!), and all of the grandkids get to open their gift from Grandma Lovell. It is the same thing every year, homemade pajamas, but it is still very exciting each year. Grandma Lovell has 30 grandkids and she makes 30 pairs of pjs every year! She always tries to choose material that she thinks each kid would like, no one ever gets the same pair or the same material. It is such a fun tradition of love.
Our little Shaylee girl got a stomach bug and was throwing up for Christmas Eve, so Grandma Eileen came up and sat with her. I felt so bad for her having to miss out on all of our fun traditions, but she had fun with Grandma and her dog Rosy.

Brendyn was NOT too happy to see Santa.
We go to the town hall every Christmas Eve so the kids can see Santa and get in their orders one more time.
Daycen wanted tools this year, REAL TOOLS, not play tools like he already has.

Ashlyn wanted ponies and pups and a white dolly.

Lanie was the angel

Brendyn was Baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes, laying in the manger.

Daycen was a shepherd

Cutest Baby Jesus ever!

Ashlyn didn't want to be in the play. She just watched with Mom and Dad.

Eva was pouting when anyone talked to her. She is so dang cute, even when she's mad!

When we got home, we made sure to leave out cookies and milk for Santa and oats and glitter to help his reindeer find our house. Then we tuck the children into bed while the excitment of Christmas fills their thoughts!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

DECC Christmas Program

The kids did their program this year at school on the 22nd and it turned out so cute!
The theme was "Twas the night before Christmas" and the kids got to wear their pj's to school. Shay is in the yellow pj's and Dayce is in his spider man pjs.

Walking in a winter wonderland!

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas......
We got about 22 inches of snow
The bad news is that the snow was so heavy that it caused a branch to break from our big tree out back

and it went right through the trampoline.
Our snow tracks
It sure looks pretty, and it makes it feel like Christmas!
Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!!!!

Santa Clause is comin' to town!

I love Christmas! I love it that everyone is a little bit more kind, a little bit more giving, a little bit more like our Savior! I love the special spirit that fills the air and the excitement on my children's faces.
